madama butterfly

I felt the animation was very well done and very strong
It showed a how a woman's life was taken away, first her boyfriend leaves and then he comes back married and takes away her child.
It was really sad. It put me in an awkward position because through the facial expressions and the music, i felt the power and emotion the woman was feeling
at the end when she destroys herself . she completely gives up. and has nothing to live for anymore. very sad.

I didn't understand the concept of fish turning into human. I thought it was interesting and well thought out but I think I missed the meaning behind that. It was interesting to see the role switch when the mother was in the air held down by the child- whereas before the mother was holding the child

it shows what longing and waiting for someone to come back can do.
very interesting
i liked how the boyfriend in the beginning gave the music player to the wife as a sign of 'i'll come back'
but when he does come back, he doesn't take it back with him.
interesting.

I liked it.

Class

I really am excited for this class, the intro seemed pretty awesome. I liked the intro of Rome, after learning 4 years of Latin that I never thought would get me anywhere- it was cool to see some of what I learned in high school repeated. I love art of all forms and am eager to see what this class has in store. I am very open minded and have been exposed to a lot of things already, but I feel this will expand my art background to a better level. I love the open class discussion and photos that were shown in class first day. Normally, I would be intimidated by the grading scale, but in fact I'm excited for a challenge.

ME:
Hi!
I am Amanda, the youngest of four from Rochester New York. (nowhere interesting).  my most prized possession in Tampa, right now, would be my longboard - formally Sheila. I love this thing like its my child. I am a dreamer and an artist. Outspoken and determined. Lover of animals, I work at a vet back home and have a pup of my own. I am helpful and admire art. I am horrible with numbers and anything science. I have a love for computers and technology, but break or loose nearly everything I own. Not from neglect, but severe forgetfullness. Memory is not my strong point. I have a lot of energy, outgoing and will strike up a conversation with anyone I happen to be around.
I'm the kind of person who invites herself to sit with the kids eating alone at the lunch table
and I make a lot of friends that way.
My friends are my family and my family is nowhere close to me, but we try to keep in touch as much as possible.

Should be a good class.
